Artikel Sebagai Pedoman...

Bernama - Saturday, December 13

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 12 (Bernama) -- A teenager discovered too late that the "crunchy" ingredients in a chocolate bar she was eating were glass shards.

Nurul Huda Megat Ahmad, 17, from Damansara Damai, here, said she had bought the chocolate at a supermarket near her house on Saturday and took a piece to eat at about 8pm yesterday.

"I felt something crunchy like sand, but continued eating it. When my throat hurt, I looked at the remaining chocolate in my hand and noticed a piece of glass, the size of a thumb, in it," she told reporters at the Sungai Buloh Hospital, near here, today.

She said she told her father who then took her to a clinic.

Her father, Megat Ahmad Megat Khalid, 55, said he took his daughter to the clinic at about 10.30pm yesterday and was told by the doctor there to bring Nurul Huda to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for further treatment after an x-ray scan showed "something" in her throat.

"However, the shards of glass which Nurul Huda swallowed will only come out when she empties her bowel," he added.

Megat Ahmad said Nurul Huda's throat was healing and hoped that the glass shards would not affect his daughter's digestive system. He said he had lodged two police reports, one at the Sungai Buloh police station early today and another at the Sungai Buloh Hospital's police booth at 12.30pm, and would decide later whether or not to take legal action against the chocolate manufacturer.

Gombak district police chief ACP Rahim Abdullah confirmed receiving the reports.
